Need to replace smart tank plus print head because of defective/blocked jets. BUT this is merely a print quality problem and no print head errors are detected SO; print head does NOT move to center position when door open.

HOW do I force printer to park print head in center so that print heads can be serviced or replaced when no error is detected?

Please respond ASAP. Kindest regards; Scorch.

When you turn ON the printer you can unplug the cable from the power when the printhead moved to the middle.

Seems like a very round-about way to get it done. I have no clue WHY the printer is engineered to NOT present the print head ready for inspection EVERY time the print head access door is opened to inspect, service or replace the print head.

Did get the new print head installed at a cost of $40 BUT black print quality issues are continuing and I do suspect there is a problem with the cleaning system itself that has been going on ever since I bought this printer and I did make a warranty claim on this same issue back then but these same, exact print quality issues are continuing even after replacing the print head... 😞

See thread: Did HP send the same printer back to me on warranty claim?
