Hi @QueenofE,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with an issue where your HP Officejet Pro 8610 printer is continuously printing and you want to stop it and clear the memory. Here are the steps you can follow to address this issue:
To Stop the Ongoing Printing
Cancel the Print Job from Your Computer:
- Go to the print queue on your computer by opening the device settings or control panel, and find "Devices and Printers" or "Printers & scanners". Right-click on your HP Officejet Pro 8610 and select "See what's printing". From there, you can cancel the current print jobs.
Use the Printer's Control Panel:
- You can also cancel the print job directly from the printer by pressing the "Cancel" button on the printer's control panel. This should be a red 'X' button or a stop button.
To Clear the Printer Memory
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait about 60 seconds before plugging the printer back in and turning it on. This can help clear the printer's memory.
Reset the Printer:
- If the above steps don’t work, consider resetting the printer. To reset your HP 8610:
- On the printer control panel, go to the home screen and swipe down to open the Dashboard, or press the arrow on the bottom left to open it.
- Tap "Setup", scroll to and select "Printer Maintenance".
- Scroll to and select "Restore" or "Reset Options".
- Select "Restore Factory Defaults", and confirm the action.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
