I'd like to print some non-authorized transfer paper (Lazertran Silk). I've read it's OK up to 180˚C, but newer laser printers can run too hot and cause the paper to melt inside the machine--something I definitely don't want.
I called HP and learned that the fusing temperature range for my printer is 175˚ - 215˚C. What I haven't been able to learn from them is what media setting will give me the absolute lowest temperature?
I've read in the forums that "Lighter media will probably feed at full speed but the Fuser Temperature will be set lower." Does that mean if I choose the media "Light 60-74g" that it wouldn't melt this paper? That seems to be the lightest paper option.
There's no other way to affect the fusing temperature on this printer, at least no way that I can find.
