Hi @Sachin285,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To perform an ink charge and remove air from the ink pipes in your HP Smart Tank 600 series printer, follow these detailed steps. The ink charging process is crucial for ensuring that the ink flows properly through the printer’s system and that air bubbles are removed from the ink lines.
**1. Prepare Your Printer
- Power On: Make sure the printer is plugged in and turned on.
- Prepare Supplies: Ensure you have all the required ink bottles and check that they are properly sealed and not expired.
**2. Access the Ink System
- Open the Ink Tank Cover:
- Open the front cover or ink tank cover of your HP Smart Tank 600 series printer. The exact cover will depend on your model.
- You may need to open an additional cover to access the ink tank.
**3. Check Ink Levels and Pipes
- Inspect Ink Levels: Verify that each ink tank is properly filled with ink. If any tank is low, fill it with the appropriate color ink.
- Check Pipes: Look at the ink tubes and ensure there are no visible obstructions or damage.
**4. Perform an Ink Charging
Using Printer Controls:
- On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Setup or Tools.
- Select Ink Management or Ink System.
- Choose Ink Charging or Ink System Cleaning.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to begin the ink charging process.
Using HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Select your printer.
- Go to Printer Maintenance or Advanced Settings.
- Choose Ink System or Ink Charging and follow the prompts.
**5. Manually Remove Air Bubbles (If Needed)
If the ink charging process does not completely remove air from the pipes, you may need to manually remove air bubbles. Here’s how:
Gently Tap Ink Bottles:
- Ensure the printer is turned off.
- Gently tap each ink bottle to help move any trapped air bubbles toward the top of the ink tank.
Remove and Reinstall Ink Tanks:
- Remove each ink tank carefully.
- Reinstall the tanks, ensuring they are securely seated and that the connections are tight.
Check for Air in the Ink Lines:
- Inspect the ink lines to see if there are visible air bubbles.
- If air bubbles are present, gently squeeze the ink lines to push the air bubbles toward the ink tanks.
**6. Run a Test Print
Print a Test Page:
- After completing the ink charging process and ensuring there are no air bubbles, print a test page to check print quality.
- Go to Printer Maintenance in the HP Smart app or from the printer’s control panel.
- Select Print Quality Diagnostic Report or Test Page.
Check for Print Issues:
- Examine the test page for any quality issues such as streaks or missing colors.
- If issues persist, you may need to run a print head cleaning cycle from the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
