Hi! @HATCOM, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

🛑I understand that you would like to make paper tray 2 as default.

Please try the steps recommended below:

✔️Follow these steps to load paper in Tray 2.
✔️Grasp the underside of Tray 2, and then pull the tray out.
✔️Slide the paper width guides to their outermost positions.
I✔️nsert a stack of plain, white paper print-side down in the center of the tray. Make sure the paper aligns with the engraved lines in the tray.
✔️Load only plain white paper in Tray 2.
✔️Adjust the paper width guides so that they rest against the edges of the paper.
✔️Carefully reinsert the tray into the product.

✔️On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (), and then click Devices and Printers.
✔️Right-click your product, and then select Printing Preferences.
✔️From the Printing Preferences menu, select Paper/Quality.
✔️From the Paper Source drop-down menu, select Tray 2.
✔️From the Paper Size drop-down menu, select the appropriate paper size for the print job.
✔️Click Apply, and then OK to confirm your selections.
✔️After you set the default print drive to Tray 2, follow the same steps to switch the default print drive back to Tray 1.

Let me know if this works!

Have a beautiful day ahead! 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for the solution to select Tray 2 as default but I cannot find any feature to disable Tray1 or select Tray2 as default. As this is Network printer, I cannot configure Tray and Paper size/Type on individual user. I want to configure on the Printer itself

Kindly let me know soon

Thanks

The solution which you have provided is not hepful at all

I need basic things i.e. How to Disable Tray 2 on the Printer so that it should not print on Tray1 and shows error  of Tray1 and when press on OK then it keep printing 3 to 4 copies which is very strange

@HATCOM

Thank you for the update.

To print by type and size from Tray 2, the optional trays, or the optional envelope feeder, it might be necessary to unload Tray 1 and close it, or set TRAY 1 TYPE and TRAY 1 SIZE to types other than ANY on the Paper Handling menu at the printer control panel.

Let me know how it goes, cheers:)
