HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3830 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an 3830 printer in a holiday home, where I'm only 2...3 x a year. Every time the ink cartridges are bad - even extensive cleaning with cleaning program of printer doesn't help - only the exchange to new cartridges every time (print head is here in the cartridges included).

I tested following with bad results - pause is mostly 6 months and more:

a.) removing the INK cartridges and store them in aluminium foil encapsulated for the pause

b.) keep the INK cartridges in printer and turn printer OFF for the pause

c.) keep the INK cartridges in printer and keep printer ON for the pause (WiFi / Internet access was active the whole time)

Always after the long pause, the print quality is such bad, even with cleaning and all that what can be done easily, that only exchanging to a new set of INK cartridges helps.

Are there any other solutions, to keep the cartridges "alive" during the pause? - or "reactivate" them after the pause?

(does anyone have good experience with ultra-sonic cleaners and INK cartridges - does this help?)

Regards,

Martin

There is no solution. The ink dries with the time that's normal, a laser printer is a solution for printing 2-3 times a year.
