I bought HP 304 ink cartridge since there was no HP 65, which my Deskjet 3720 from Hong Kong was equipped, in the UK. However I encountered the error of incompatible ink cartridge after installing HP 304 into my printer. I learnt that it could be resolved by resetting the regionalisation. Please advise me how to do so. Thank you very much.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

 

Yes, we'll have to do a region reset.

 

To do a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

 

1. The printer should be connected using a printer USB cable to the computer.

2. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer. 

3. You need to have all the cartridges from the old region/country.

Thank you for your information. I would like to clarify if HP Smart is the full feature software, as I have it installed in my computer. But, please can you advise me which settings I need to change? In addition, I am facing another problem is Custom Printer Password. I tried to change a setting, but this password entry was required and I did not know it or I forgot it. Can you please also advise me how to reset this password?
