Hello,
When I try to view printer ink levels all I get is warning that can't get ink levels from printer because it's expired. I guess I can understand HP saying I can't get free service advice because the printer is expired but why can't I get the ink levels from my own printer?

Jared

Hi @M813,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Update Printer Software and Drivers
Ensure that your printer software and drivers are up to date. You can download the latest drivers and software from the HP Support website.
Use HP Smart App
HP Smart App is an excellent tool that supports most HP printers and provides various options, including viewing ink levels. Here’s how you can use it:
- Download HP Smart App: Download and install the HP Smart App from the Mac App Store.
- Install and Set Up: Open the app and follow the instructions to set up your printer.
- Check Ink Levels: Once set up, the app will show ink levels under the printer information.
Restart the Printer and Computer
Sometimes, simply restarting your printer and computer can resolve issues. Turn both off, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
Printer Embedded Web Server
You can also check ink levels using the printer’s embedded web server:
- Find Printer IP Address: Navigate to your printer's control panel to find the IP address.
- Open Web Browser: Open a web browser on your computer and type the printer’s IP address in the address bar.
- Access Printer Web Page: This will open the printer’s embedded web server where you can navigate to see the ink levels.
I hope this helps.

Hi Kuroi,
Thanks for the response. I downloaded the latest driver for this printer Office Jet Pro 9025. It wouldn't update however - said there was no software for this model printer.
Did a printer status report from within HP Smart and it showed Estimated Cartridge Levels. And now when I open HP Smart it does display a graphic with the ink levels.
Didn't really do anything but now it seems to be working.
Thanks.

Jared
