I bought new black  ink 2 weeks ago then the next time i turned  on printer it printed and no ink Blank paper  came  out called hp suport and he told to get new ink so i bought black and 3 color ink . An error  message  came on saying your cartridge  is missing  . Brank new ink stuck on that screen. Just spent 80 dollars on ink .what do i do? Help

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

I can completely understand your frustration right now—spending $80 on new ink only for the printer to show an error saying the cartridge is missing is incredibly annoying. You've been doing everything right, but the printer is still acting up. Let's try to tackle this together.

 

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove the cartridges.
  4. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back in.
  6. Wai for few minutes and then insert the cartridges (let printer prompt for cartridges)
  7. Turn on the printer

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.
