I have a HP Envy 7640 all in one printer. It is not printing with cyan. It has a new HP cartridge installed. I have run the alignment several times, had the printer do a cleaning several times and have cleaned the connections with distilled water. Still not printing cyan.

Hi @farm6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 7640 printer is not printing cyan despite having a new cartridge and going through alignment and cleaning processes, there are a few additional troubleshooting steps you can try.
Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cyan cartridge is properly installed. Open the printer cover, remove the cyan cartridge, and then reinsert it firmly, making sure it snaps into place.
Check Cartridge Expiry: Confirm that the cyan cartridge is not expired. Even if it's new, cartridges have an expiration date, and using an expired cartridge may lead to printing issues.
Printer Software Update: Make sure your printer's firmware and driver software are up to date. Check the HP website for any available updates and install them if necessary.
Manual Cleaning: If the issue persists, you might need to perform a more thorough manual cleaning of the printhead. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the cyan cartridge.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth or cotton swab with distilled water.
- Gently wipe the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the printhead. Be careful not to touch the nozzles on the printhead.
- Allow everything to dry completely.
- Reinstall the cyan cartridge and try printing again.
Printhead Replacement: If manual cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, it's possible that the printhead is faulty or clogged beyond repair. In this case, you may need to consider replacing the printhead.
Always follow the HP guidelines and recommendations when troubleshooting printer issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
