Hp deskjet 2720e prints color instead of black

Hello! I bought a few months ago a hp deskjet 2720e printer. I havent bought any cartridges yet because i used the one that came with the printer and now I'm low in both black an color cartridges. My problem is that I wanted to print some pages that were color but in black. I tried twice to print but still colored but the colors where faded. Where it should be red it was brown and where it should be grey it was like orange but more like a human skin (white skin). When i printed the same page on laptop it came out black and white as i wanted. Is it a problem with my phone?
