i just bought a hp printer and signed up for mih hp instant ink. I can read that you would like the ink cartridge sent back when you have collected some pieces. this also applies to the cartridges that come with the printer from new

Welcome to the HP Community.

Yes, after they are depleted and you change out the cartridges, you can add your original cartridges to the bag with the Instant Ink cartridges and send them back to HP.  HP will take care of proper disposal of any HP cartridges.
