Hi @Kelley59,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 not printing red correctly. There could be several reasons for this issue, and I'll provide you with some troubleshooting steps to help you resolve it.
Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the red ink cartridge is properly installed and has enough ink. You can check ink levels through your printer's control panel or by using the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
Clean Printhead Manually: If the printhead cleaning hasn't worked, you can try cleaning the printhead manually. Here's how you can do it.
- Remove the red ink cartridge.
- Dampen a lint-free cloth or paper towel with distilled water.
- Gently wipe the printhead area (where the ink comes out) to remove any dried ink or debris.
- Reinsert the red ink cartridge and try printing again.
Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Using third-party or refilled cartridges can sometimes lead to printing issues.
Printer Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve printing problems.
Check Color Settings: Double-check your printer's color settings to make sure it's not set to print in grayscale or with a color balance that's causing issues.
Run Printer Diagnostics: Many HP printers come with built-in diagnostic tools. You can access these tools through the printer's control panel or HP Smart app. Run a diagnostic test to identify and resolve any hardware issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
