Hi @PB4555
Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.
I understand how frustrating it is when your prints come out missing that crucial blue tone—especially after trying the built-in cleaning routines.
Let’s help your printer deliver the vibrant results it’s meant to.
Steps to fix missing blue (cyan) ink output
Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
- On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Tools > Print Quality Report.
- This will show which colors are printing correctly and whether cyan is missing or streaked.
- If cyan is absent or faint, proceed to the next steps.
Perform a second-level printhead cleaning
- Go to Settings > Tools > Clean Printhead again, but this time select Deep Cleaning or Level 2 Cleaning if available.
- This uses more ink but can clear stubborn clogs.
Check ink levels and cartridge seating
- Open the cartridge access door and inspect the cyan cartridge.
- Make sure it’s properly seated and that the vent is clear (no tape or dried ink blocking it).
- If the cartridge is low or expired, replace it with a fresh genuine HP cartridge.
Manually clean the printhead (if removable)
- If your printer has a removable printhead, take it out carefully.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to gently wipe the copper-colored contacts and nozzle area.
- Let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Align the printhead
- On the printer, go to Settings > Tools > Align Printhead.
- This ensures the nozzles are properly calibrated and can improve color output.
Update printer firmware
- Visit the HP Software & Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your printer model and download the latest firmware update.
- Install it using the HP App to ensure optimal performance.
Try printing from a different app or device
- Sometimes the issue is software-related.
- Print a color test page from the HP App or another device to confirm if the issue persists.
If the cyan ink still doesn’t print after these steps, the printhead may be permanently clogged and require replacement.
Let me know your exact printer model and I can guide you to the correct printhead or service options. I’ll stay with you until your prints are rich and fully colored again.
