Hi @Swapneel_19 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Smart Tank 500 printing in a pink shade, with yellow not printing despite the tank being full, is often due to a clog or blockage in the yellow ink delivery system.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check the Ink Levels

  • Ensure the ink tanks are properly filled with the correct ink types.
  • Confirm there’s no air in the ink delivery tubes. Air can block ink flow.

2. Print a Diagnostic Page

  • How to do this:
    • Open HP Smart App or your printer’s Control Panel.
    • Go to Printer Maintenance > Print Quality Diagnostic.
  • Check the color bars for yellow. If it’s missing or faint, there’s likely a clog.

3. Clean the Printhead

  • Use the Printhead Cleaning Tool available in the HP software or control panel:
    • Go to HP Smart App > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printheads.
  • Perform multiple cleaning cycles (up to 3 times if needed).

4. Check for Blockages or Dried Ink

  • Manually inspect the printhead for dried ink:
    • Turn off the printer and open the printhead area.
    • Gently remove the printhead and inspect for clogs.
    • Use a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water to clean the nozzles gently. Avoid touching the electrical contacts.
    • Reinstall the printhead and run a printhead alignment test.

5. Perform a Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for 2–3 minutes.
  • Reconnect and turn on the printer, then retry printing.

6. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer has the latest firmware:
    • Visit the HP Support Website and search for your printer model.
    • Download and install any available firmware updates.

7. Use the Correct Paper Type

  • Ensure you are using clean, inkjet-compatible paper. Incorrect paper types can affect ink distribution.

8. Test with Another Computer or App

  • Sometimes, the issue might be software-related. Print from a different device or app to rule this out.

9. Replace the Yellow Printhead (if necessary)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
