I have a HP8020 printer and I tried printing with new HP 910 XL black ink cartridge and printer won’t print any black ink prints come out blank I tried clearing the cartridge. I tried to clear but nothing blocking I made certain that it’s seated properly. I’m using HP print. I tried it with and without and nothing will resolve the issue. The color cartridges are fine but large capacity black ink 910XL seems to not work. Please help.

Having trouble with your HP 910XL black ink cartridge not printing can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

 

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink level in the HP 910XL black cartridge is sufficient. Sometimes, new cartridges can be defective or have insufficient ink.
  • Run Print Quality Diagnostic: Most HP printers have a diagnostic or print quality report option. Use this to print a test page and check if the black ink is printing correctly. This can help identify if the issue is with the printer or the cartridge.
  • Clean Printhead: Print heads can sometimes get clogged, especially if the printer has not been used for a while or if the ink cartridge is new. Your HP printer should have an option to clean the printhead. Follow the printer’s manual or on-screen instructions to perform a printhead cleaning.
  • Align Printhead: Alignment issues can also cause printing problems. Your printer should have an option to align the printhead. Again, refer to the printer’s manual or on-screen instructions to align the printhead.
  • Check Air Vents: Ensure that there are no obstructions in the air vents of the ink cartridge. Sometimes, removing the cartridge and gently wiping the vent area with a lint-free cloth can help.

  • Replace Cartridge: If none of the above steps resolve the issue and you suspect a defect in the cartridge itself, consider replacing the HP 910XL black cartridge with a new one. Sometimes, cartridges can be faulty right out of the box.
