I can only print one job and then I have to turn the printer off and repeat. The icon marked with colors has a line to black and white. It starts flashing.

Hi @Frustratedallda,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer is experiencing an issue where it can only complete one print job before requiring a reset, and you're noticing a specific icon related to color or black and white printing is flashing. This behavior can indicate several potential issues, including but not limited to, printer driver problems, connectivity issues, or hardware malfunctions. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Status
- Ink/Toner Levels: Make sure the printer has enough ink or toner for both color and black and white printing.
- Paper Jams: Check for any paper jams or debris inside the printer that might be causing issues.
- Printer Error Messages: Look for any error messages on the printer's display or within your computer's printer settings.
2. Printer Software and Drivers
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure your printer drivers are up to date. Visit the printer HP website to download the latest drivers.
- Reinstall Printer Software: Sometimes, reinstalling the printer software can resolve communication issues between the printer and your computer.
3. Connection Issues
- Check Connections: If you're using a wired connection, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer. If wireless, ensure the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Restart Network: If the printer is connected to a network, try restarting your router or modem to resolve any connectivity issues.
4. Printer Settings
- Print Preferences: Check your print preferences to ensure they are set correctly for your job. This includes selecting the right printer, paper size, and print quality.
- Default Printer: Make sure your printer is set as the default printer on your computer.
5. Hardware Reset
- Some printers benefit from a full hardware reset. This can be more than just turning it off and on. Consult the printer’s manual or the web HP for instructions on performing a hardware reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
