I like the idea of HP taking a small increment of money monthly, so that when I do need printer inks they just send them, no fuss.

What concerns me is that I have only seen one set of ink cartridges when I first started the account a year ago and I don't see myself using enough ink cartridges to justify the money that's bleeding from my bank account each month.

So how to fix this ? stop it completely? I doubt i can get a better deal.. This is by far the best printer I've ever had I don't want to stuff it all up, But I don't want to get ripped off either.

Anyone got an answer to this?

You have to make the decision for your situation.

It's true that ink is is only sent when the printer notifies the service that supplies are depleted and it's time for a shipment.

Instant Ink cartridges are larger than not-Instant-Ink cartridges -- the larger size reduces costs.

What else?

Instant Ink is a Print-by-Page subscription model.

You are not paying for ink -- the subscription charges a monthly fee based on the number of pages in your Instant Ink plan.

It is true that people who print regularly will benefit more than those who print just a few pages per month.

This is normal -- ink is only supplied (as needed) with an active subscription.
