I have a 9015e printing device in my vacation home, so it often sits without use for a bit. When I come back, I keep getting depleted cartridge messages when I know the cartridges are brand new. I have rebooted and unplugged and tried the useless Virtual Assistant. There are no metal contacts to clean on the cartridges (HP 962 factory cartridges) From looking to the internet this appears to be a common problem. Solutions?

Solutions?
Sure - This result can be common when the printer sits for too long without being used.
Ink is new but perhaps dried up.
What?
If "a bit" of time is a week, ink should be OK.
If "a bit" of time is a month, three months, more - ink might dry up.
It MIGHT be helpful if the power stays on, if the printer stays on, and the printer can run its maintenance while you are not in residence.
Really, though, once used the first time, a printer is meant to be used on a regular basis (about once a week is good).
