I'm getting frustrated with these vertical (Landscape orientation) every 32mm across that page (HP Premium Plus photo paper. The printing prosses seems to stop for a second then starts up again, that is where the line appears. I've made sure the latest firmware is installed.

Hi @HRG3Design ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing print quality issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740, particularly when using HP Premium Plus photo paper. Vertical lines every 32mm across the page can be caused by various factors, and troubleshooting the issue may require a systematic approach. Here are some steps you can take to address this problem:
Check Paper Quality:
- Make sure that the photo paper you are using is not damaged or expired.
- Verify that you are using the correct paper type and settings in your printer software.
Clean the Printhead:
- Your printer may have a printhead that needs cleaning. Refer to your printer's user manual or HP's official website for instructions on how to clean the printhead.
Align the Printhead:
- Some printers have an alignment feature that ensures the printhead is properly aligned. Check your printer settings or user manual for information on how to perform printhead alignment.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- While you mentioned that you have the latest firmware installed, it's a good idea to double-check for any new updates on the HP support website. Sometimes, reinstalling the firmware can resolve printing issues.
Adjust Print Settings:
- Experiment with different print settings to see if the issue persists. For example, you might try adjusting the print quality settings or selecting a different paper type in the print settings menu.
Inspect for Foreign Objects:
- Ensure there are no foreign objects or debris inside the printer that may be causing the print quality issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
