HP Smart Tank 651

Hello,

I have a Smart Tank 651 Printer which I bought for Christmas cards 1 year ago exactly. This year, the print is faded, and there are lines in the pictures. I have aligned, cleaned, done all I can to try and resolve this.

 Thank you

Dragon-Fur was on to something, after all. My black ink was nearly empty, and all three color ink tanks were still nearly 3/4 full. This got me thinking that I may not have been printing enough items in color to keep the printer head "unclogged". I ordered a new tri-color printer head, and all is well.

After a year of non-use, the ink supply is perhaps dried out.

If you have not done so:

Consider >> Install new ink

Thank you, Dragon-Fur.

Unfortunately, it's our daily printer, and we use it quite often.

You are welcome.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other solutions.

I am not familiar with the printer type and cannot offer any magic.

Doesn't mean there is not magic - I just know know what it is.

Regular ink jet printers sometimes respond to having the ink removed, shaken a bit (gently!) and then reinstalled.

Not sure what it takes to do that with a "tank" system, but it might work...

I also believe in magic; I just wish it wasn't needed after a year.

 Thank you kindly

I was really hoping for an HP Technician to weigh in, as this printer was still in warranty. There is no way to contact HP that I can see.
