@LuDuPe, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check the Ink Cartridge Installation

  • Power off your printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Make sure you’re installing the cartridges in the correct slots (color in the color slot, black in the black slot).
  • Ensure the cartridges are firmly seated in place until you hear a click.
  • Check for any tape or protective materials on the cartridges that might still be attached. Remove them.

Check the Cartridge Compatibility

  • Confirm that your cartridges are compatible with the HP ENVY 6022. You mentioned you’re using HP 67/305, which should be compatible, but double-check the model of your printer and cartridge (HP 67 vs. HP 305).
  • If you're using refilled or third-party cartridges, there might be compatibility issues.

Restart Printer

  • Turn off the printer, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on. This can sometimes help the printer reset and recognize the cartridges.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • The ink cartridge contacts, and the printer’s internal contacts can get dirty, leading to communication issues.
  • Turn off the printer.
  • Remove the cartridges and gently clean the copper-colored contact points on both the cartridges and inside the printer using a soft, lint-free cloth or cotton swab lightly dampened with water (avoid using alcohol as it can damage the contacts).

Check for Printer Error Messages

  • Look at the printer’s display panel or your computer for any error messages related to the cartridges. These might indicate low ink levels or other issues.

Test with a New Cartridge

  • If possible, try installing a new ink cartridge to check if the issue is related to the cartridge itself. If the new cartridge works, your original cartridges might be faulty.

Update Printer Firmware and Drivers

  • Check for firmware updates for your HP ENVY 6022 printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve cartridge recognition issues.
  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed on your computer. You can download them from the HP website.

Perform a Printer Reset (Soft Reset)

  • To reset your HP ENVY 6022, follow these steps:
    1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the back.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug the printer back in and power it on.

Check for Paper Jams or Blockages

  • Sometimes, even a minor paper jam can prevent the printer from working correctly. Check for any paper jams or debris inside the printer that could be interfering with the print head or cartridge installation.

Run HP's Print and Scan Doctor (Windows Only)

  • HP provides a tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor. You can download it from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and fix common printing issues automatically.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
