My HP Officejet Pro 8720 won't accept the new ink cartridges.  Says that the cartridges are for older generation printer?  These are the same HP Cartridges I've been using since I purchased the printer.  What gives?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

If this is a genuine HP ink cartridge, I would need some information related to the ink cartridges and the printer which cannot be shared on a public post for security reasons.

I have sent you a private message, reply to the message with the required details.

@Betty0610  - @JohnDeere318 posted the issue with more details (and some pictures) in the thread here:

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Ink-Cartridges-Print-Quality/Older-Generation-Cartridge-Error/... where they indicate the printer is an Officejet 8702.  Can you respond to that thread?  Thanks in advance.
