hi i have a just got a HP 2320 , it's ex display as the shop couldn't find the cartridge's, i was given 2 new ones but now i have orange flashing lights as the app is telling me i need set up cartri

Yes, the printer needs setup cartridges for first-time initialization.

It’s ex-display so I don’t have the set up cartridges . Is there a bypass option ? Or can purchase set up cartridges? Thank

The request for setup cartridges might have been triggered by moving the printer from its location at the store.

What else?

  • If you can register the printer you could perhaps contact HP directly.  This is best since our methods to contact HP on your behalf are indirect - we are not HP Support.
  • Return the printer to the store - sometimes the discount given for accepting a floor model is not worth the added hassle.

HP Support does not generally provide free service for out-of-warranty devices.

Our Community is not HP Support; we do offer online help free of charge.

Check the Warranty on your product

         Warranty Check – Single or Multiple Devices

 

NOTE:  Warranty date is updated after purchase and registration of the device.

If the device is not registered, or if there are other issues, submit a Warranty Dispute form.

 

       NOTE 2:  If the single-system-check fails to find your device, use the "multiple devices" method to

check single or multiple devices.

 

  • If necessary, Select your Country on the main website page or at the bottom (click Flag)
  • Scroll down > To the right of Check multiple warranties, Click Continue
  • Enter the Serial Number and Country for one or more devices / systems to be checked
  • Check the box to verify you are "Not a robot"
  • Click Submit (at bottom of list entries)

sorry I’ve been tied up all week, I tried the contact hp but they say the warranty is out of date ever though it was still in plastic wrap . The shop said they would look around to see if they had the cartridges but that’s why they gave me the new ones. If I signed up to instant ink would that mean I got sent set up cartridges? Sorry to be a pain . I just the printer to work . Thank you so much, for all your input.

I am not having any luck bumping the request either.  Will try again.

 

If you have not done so, try submitting a Warranty Dispute form.

The form won't fix the setup but it will certainly fix the Warranty date if such can be done.

Honestly, I'm not sure a demonstration machine is eligible for Warranty - it is after all, "used".  ??

If the printer was a demonstration model, it seems like it would have been unpacked (unwrapped) and set up as a demo machine - in that case, the original setup cartridges that came with the printer would have been installed for use.

 

There really should be a solution.

 

I will try again to get the attention of someone who can help - I do not have access for fixing the Warranty or addressing the setup cartridges.
