I have recently purchased an Officejet 6950 printer. It arrived with 902 ink cartridges, which have now run out and it says 903's are compatible but after trying 9 different cartridges the machine is still saying the cartridges are incompatible. I have downloaded the latest updates. What can I do next?

Hi,
Where did you purchase the printer? was it purchase in the UK?
HP 903 cartridges are used with a printers marketed in Europe, HP 902 cartridges are used by a printer marketed in the USA, not in a printer intended to be sold in Europe:

Does it list 902 on the label within the cartridge access door?
