Microsoft Windows 11

I try to print and the message comes up "Cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink." I don't want to use Instant Ink. What do I do to be able to use the printer with the present ink cartridges and future ones please?

Hi @Graham145,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand that you're using an HP Envy printer and are encountering the message: "Cartridge cannot be used until the printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink." It sounds like you want to cancel the Instant Ink service and use the printer for normal printing with standard cartridges.

Steps to Cancel Instant Ink:

1️. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account
2️. Cancel your current plan under "Manage Subscription"
3️. Wait for cancellation confirmation (Ensure your printer is set up with standard ink in the meantime)

4. HP will send a confirmation email after cancellation.

5. Your Instant Ink cartridges will stop working at the end of the billing cycle or immediately if cancelled mid-cycle.

6. Remove the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer.

7. Install standard HP ink cartridges (compatible with your printer model).

Also sharing an HP user guide for more help on cancellation

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
