“I have encountered the following problem: ‘Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed, and press OK.’ I have already done this, and I even installed a new ink cartridge, but the error message still appears. Do you know what the solution might be?”

I have already changed the cartridges. I have cleaned the contacts. I have tried a different cartridge. And I still have the same problem. This is not a cartridge issue, in my opinion.

Can anyone give me a solution? Has anyone had a similar problem

@Maegashira, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Ink Cartridge Errors!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you've already tried removing and reinstalling the ink cartridge, and even replacing it with a new one, but the error message persists, here are some additional steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check for Proper Installation:

  • Ensure the ink cartridges are properly seated in their slots.
  • Match the color and shape of the ink cartridge to the slot with the same color and shape icon.

Inspect Electrical Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Open the cartridge access door and remove the ink cartridge.
  • Inspect the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge and inside the cartridge slot for any dirt or residue.
  • Clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab slightly dampened with distilled water.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, and wait for about 10 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure that your printer is updated with the latest firmware. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues with ink cartridges.

Cycle Power Again:

  • If issues persist, turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for about 10 seconds, plug it back in, and power it on again.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
