I have a HP Deskjet 3632Printer . I have a new black cartridge which the printer recognizes and indicates that there is plenty of black ink.  When the test sample comes out it is only light blue with a little pink.

Hi @Sratmn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Ink Cartridge Compatibility and Installation

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct HP black cartridge for the Deskjet 3632, typically HP 63 Black or HP 63XL Black.

Install Cartridge Properly:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door.
  • Remove the black cartridge and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.
  • Close the access door and check if the printer recognizes the black cartridge again.

Perform a Printer Reset

  1. Power Cycle the Printer:
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Wait for 60 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
    • Print a test page to see if the issue is resolved.

Run a Cartridge Cleaning Utility

Open Printer Software:

  • On your computer, open the HP Printer Assistant. You can access it by clicking the HP Deskjet 3632 icon from the desktop or from the Start menu under HP.

Maintenance Tasks:

  • Go to the “Print & Scan” section and select “Maintain Your Printer”.
  • Click on “Device Services” and then select “Clean Ink Cartridges”.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the cleaning.

Note: You may need to run the cleaning utility more than once to achieve optimal results.

Check and Align Ink Cartridges

  1. Align Cartridges:
    • In the HP Printer Assistant, go to “Print & Scan” and then click on “Maintain Your Printer”.
    • Select “Device Services” and then choose “Align Ink Cartridges”.
    • Print the alignment page and follow the instructions to complete the alignment process.

Run a Print Quality Diagnostic

  1. Print Diagnostic Page:
    • In the HP Printer Assistant, go to “Print & Scan” and click on “Maintain Your Printer”.
    • Select “Device Reports” and choose “Print Diagnostic Information”.
    • Review the diagnostic page to check the print quality.

I hope this helps.
