I have tried to print out a downloaded document from canva multiple times and it keeps telling me there is a printer error and it will not finish the job

Hi @Keagan1
This is a frustrating issue, and it's particularly common when printing complex design files from sources like Canva, as they can put a heavy load on the printer's processing queue (the Print Spooler).
The problem is likely a combination of a temporary printer/spooler issue and a potential file format conflict with your HP printer's driver.
While it would be better if you could share the exact error message/error code that you see, here are some basic or general steps that may help fix this issue:
Step 1: Fix the Canva Document Format (Most Likely Cause)
The most common reason for print errors with Canva files is the file format used for downloading.
I'd suggest using PDF or JPG format.
After downloading the file as a PDF Print, open the PDF with a dedicated PDF viewer (like Adobe Acrobat Reader or Edge/Chrome) and try printing from there.
Step 2: Clear the Print Spooler (Common Printer Fix)
If the corrupted or stuck print jobs are causing a backlog, the printer will keep failing new jobs.
-
Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run box.
-
Type
services.mscand press Enter. -
In the list of services, find Print Spooler.
-
Right-click on Print Spooler and select Stop.
-
Keep the Services window open.
-
Press the Windows Key + R again, type
C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS, and press Enter. This will open the PRINTERS folder. -
Delete all files inside this PRINTERS folder. (This clears the stuck jobs if any).
-
Go back to the Print Spooler service in the
services.mscwindow, Right-click and select Start. -
Restart your computer.
Step 3: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
HP provides a utility specifically designed to automatically diagnose and fix common printing problems on Windows.
-
Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor (you can search on Google for "HP Print and Scan Doctor" in case you dont have it installed already).
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to select your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e.
-
Let the tool run its diagnostics and apply any recommended fixes.
Step 4: Check for Driver/Firmware Updates
Outdated drivers can be a common source of printer errors, especially after a Windows 11 update.
-
Check for Printer Firmware: Use the HP App on your PC, or the control panel on your printer, to check and install the latest firmware updates.
-
Reinstall the Driver:
Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
Click on your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e and select Remove.
Go to the official HP website(support.hp.com) for the ENVY Inspire 7255e and download the latest full feature software/driver for Windows 11. Install the driver and test your print job again (with the PDF Print file).
