I just replaced the black ink cartridge on my HP6525 and the black will not print.

HP 6520 using an HP 564 Black Ink Cartridge.  The color cartridges are empty but still installed.  They have been installed for years.  I never used them when they ran out of ink

@tom742, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to print. On this model printer, all 4 ink cartridges should have a minimum amount of ink for you to be able to print either in black or color.

If any one of the ink cartridges is empty, it will not print. You will have to replace the empty ink color ink cartridges even if you want to just print in black.

You may purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
