Hi. I feel embarrassed to say this story but could really use your help. I have a color laser jet pro M252dw printer that has been running like a champ until ut started showing some black line on the right side of every print. Regardless how many cleanings I did nothing changed so I thought perhaps there is ink inside that I cannot reach and that the vacuum could suck out. I pulled out the toners and entered the hose of the vacuum. I then proceeded to place the toners back to feel like a film being broken and got a paper jam error. Long story short a black film like sheet came out the back which I think k is the fusee film. It all tore and now every print comes out as a blank sheet of paper. I googled and I think I need to replace the fuse film sleeve? Is that true? Any idea how to change it for my printer model? Here is what I got using chatgpt that of course assuming that the fuse film sleeve is what I tore.
1. Prepare Your Workspace:
• Power Down: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
• Cool Down: Allow the printer to cool for at least 30 minutes, as internal components can be hot.
2. Gather Necessary Tools:
• Screwdrivers: A #2 Phillips screwdriver with a magnetic tip is recommended.
• Replacement Part: Ensure you have the correct fuser film sleeve compatible with the M252dw model.
3. Disassemble the Printer:
• Remove Tray 2: Pull out Tray 2 completely.
• Open Doors: Open the front and rear doors of the printer.
• Remove Covers: Using the screwdriver, remove the right and left side covers by unscrewing the designated screws and releasing the tabs.
• Detach Top Cover: Unscrew and carefully lift off the top cover.
4. Access the Fuser Assembly:
• Locate the Fuser: The fuser assembly is situated at the rear of the printer.
• Disconnect Cables: Gently disconnect any cables connected to the fuser.
• Remove Fuser: Unscrew the fuser assembly and carefully extract it from the printer.
5. Replace the Fuser Film Sleeve:
• Disassemble Fuser: Open the fuser assembly to access the damaged film sleeve.
• Remove Old Sleeve: Carefully slide out the old fuser film sleeve.
• Install New Sleeve: Gently slide the new fuser film sleeve into place, ensuring it fits snugly.
6. Reassemble the Printer:
• Reinstall Fuser: Place the fuser assembly back into the printer and secure it with screws.
• Reconnect Cables: Reconnect any cables that were detached.
• Reattach Covers: Reattach the top, right, and left covers, securing them with screws.
• Close Doors: Ensure all doors are closed properly.
• Insert Tray 2: Slide Tray 2 back into its position.
7. Test the Printer:
• Power Up: Plug in the printer and turn it on.
• Print Test Page: Run a test print to ensure the new fuser film sleeve is functioning correctly.
Important Considerations:
• Delicate Handling: The fuser film sleeve is fragile; handle it with care to avoid damage.
• Professional Assistance: If you’re uncertain about any step, it’s advisable to consult a professional technician to prevent potential damage to your printer.
