Microsoft Windows 11

After forced firmware updates of a perfectly working printer that I have been using non HP cartridges for years, it is now not working because of erroneous forced errors.  HP have trashed my printer.   

 

So, I would like HP to downgrade the firmware or give me a refund  - or we go to court over a printer.

HP Officejet Pro 7740 Firmware Update 

Description

This software tool will help you update your printer to the latest firmware. Please refer to Enhancement/Fixes for more detail about the firmware update.
Reminder: Dynamic security enabled printer. This Firmware includes dynamic security measures, which are used to block cartridges using a non-HP chip or modified or non-HP electronic circuitry. The printer is intended to work only with new or reused cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or circuitry. Periodic firmware updates will maintain the effectiveness of the dynamic security measures and block cartridges that previously worked. More at: https://www.hp.com/learn/ds

Note: For printers manufactured prior to December 1, 2016 dynamic security will not be enabled by this firmware. Please note that HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP cartridges.

You can use 3rd party or refilled cartridges that meet a basic requirement of containing an HP chip.
