I imagine this is a common issue. I would be very grateful for a response from HP Support.

 

I have a M110we printer; I am no longer subscribed to Instant Ink.

 

I have installed a non-original toner cartridge from a reputable supplier: the printer rejects it as non-original. As I recall, when I purchased the printer there was no prominent warning on the box (that this printer will not function with non-HP cartridges): so I don't think it's ethical practice to stop me from using third-party cartridges.

 

Can you indicate a solution? Thanks!

Your printer model is HP+ printer that require of using original brand toner cartridges. Non HP+ printer M110w ( wihout e ) can use any toner.

HP: If this is indeed the case, I'm extremely unhappy with it, since there was no clear and prominent statement of this condition on the box. I consider it to be rapacious and misleading commercial practice, verging on the fraudulent. I've been buying HP printers for about 30 years, but I will never buy HP in future.
