Hi @ant04,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.
Check and Clean Contacts:
- Remove the ink cartridge from the printer.
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge.
- Also, clean the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge is installed.
- Reinsert the cartridge securely into its slot.
Reinstall Cartridges Correctly:
- Ensure that the cartridges are correctly seated in the printer.
- Confirm that the protective tape has been removed from the contacts and ink nozzles.
- Close the cartridge access door properly after reinstalling the cartridges.
Clean the Ink Cartridge and Printhead Electrical Contacts
- Turn the printer on.
- Open the access door to the cartridges.
- Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message.
- Clean the copper-colored contact on the cartridge using a lint-free cloth.
- Wipe the contact inside the printhead with the cloth.
- Reinsert the cartridge into its color-coded slot and press down until it snaps into place.
- Close the cartridge access door.
Replace the Problem Cartridge
- If the cartridge error persists after cleaning:
- If you have another HP 46 cartridge on hand, install it to check if the issue resolves.
I hope this helps.
