Please advise on how i can solve this issue where you are once again illegally blocking me from using third party ink.  My cartridges were working fine and all of sudden i am getting error messages that you are blocking me from using ink that clearly was working a few days ago so it has zero to do with a "chip".  Please advise a real solution to fix this issue. Yes i have tried to remove cartridge clean and reinsert and also have done the reset.

Hi @kbloco1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I get it, your printer was working just fine, and now it’s suddenly refusing to use your ink. That’s beyond frustrating!

Here’s what’s happening: HP printers have built-in security to work best with original HP cartridges. Non-HP ink might work for a while, but updates can sometimes block them, kind of like your printer realizing it’s been tricked.

But don’t worry! Try these troubleshooting steps to get things back on track:
🔗 Fix Ink Cartridge Issues

If the issue persists, switching to genuine HP ink will ensure smooth printing without interruptions. Let me know if you need any help!

How does this solve my issue?  Go and buy HP replacement ink when you are illegally blocking me from using non-hp ink.  You actually helped prove what HP is doing and will be helpful in a class action.  While you say firmware updates can be turned off, my are set off and you now started blocking my ink.

@kbloco1,

Thank you for the response

I completely understand how frustrating this must be, especially when your printer was working fine just a few days ago. That’s definitely not the experience we want you to have.

To clarify, HP doesn’t intentionally block third-party ink, but our printers have built-in security features designed to protect the device from potential damage or compatibility issues. Sometimes, non-HP cartridges may trigger these security measures, causing errors.

The best way to ensure uninterrupted printing is to use genuine HP cartridges, as they are designed to work seamlessly with your printer. Let me know if you’d like assistance in troubleshooting further!

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
