@Gopinath_33M, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Incompatible Printheads and Black & White Printing!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your printer indicates that the tri-color cartridge is incompatible, you can still perform black and white printing using only the black ink cartridge. Here's how you can proceed with the issues:
1. Printing in Black and White Only
Many HP printers offer a "single-cartridge mode" that allows you to print using only one cartridge (either black or tri-color) if the other is missing or incompatible. Here's how you can initiate this:
- Remove the incompatible tri-color cartridge: Open the printer's ink cartridge access door and remove the tri-color cartridge.
- Insert only the black cartridge: Make sure the black ink cartridge is properly seated in its slot.
- Close the access door and try to print. The printer should automatically enter single-cartridge mode, allowing print jobs to proceed with black ink only.
2. Resolving the Tri-Color Cartridge Issue
Troubleshooting the incompatible cartridge involves a few steps:
Clean the tri-color cartridge contacts: Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and within the printer.
Reinsert the tri-color cartridge: Reinsert the cartridge to ensure it's seated correctly in the slot.
Replace the cartridge if necessary: If the printer continues to show an error and cleaning the contacts doesn't help, you may need to replace the tri-color cartridge with a new one.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
