I have been using generic ink in my HP Envy Inspire 7955e. I have been satisfied with the print quality. I had to restart my printer one day and after that, the printer wouldn't accept the ink cartridges. I have tried everything to get it to work again to no avail. I don't have the option to change things in the maintenance screen.

Hi @Mamac51
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e stopped recognizing the generic ink cartridges after a restart, which is frustrating.
Try These Fixes:
Reset the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and restart.
Reinstall the Ink Cartridges
- Remove the cartridges and clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert them firmly and restart the printer.
Disable HP Cartridge Protection (If Available)
- Open HP Smart or Printer Settings on your computer.
- Look for Cartridge Protection and disable it.
Try a Hard Reset
- Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds while unplugged.
- Plug it back in and restart.
