Hello! I usually replace my ink cartridge whenever there's a low level. However, just today, when I replaced it with new ink cartridge, the printer says it is incompatible. I opened another 3 new boxes and the problem still recurs. I'm having a problem. Please help me. I have never encountered this before.  All products I opened today and have used before are from 1 supplier only and same delivery.

My printer is HP Deskjet 4515, my ink cartridge is No. 678 (Black), CZ107A

Hi @benzene_01,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When experiencing an issue with your HP Deskjet 4515 printer not recognizing new HP 678 black ink cartridges (CZ107A), here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridge part number CZ107A (HP 678) is indeed the correct and compatible cartridge for your HP Deskjet 4515 printer.

Check Packaging and Cartridge:

  • Double-check the packaging to ensure that it's genuine HP ink. Counterfeit cartridges can sometimes cause such issues.
  • Inspect the cartridge itself for any visible damage.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Wait for about a minute and then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.

Check Installation:

  • Open the ink cartridge access door and ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
  • Reinstall the cartridges by removing them and then carefully inserting them back into their slots.

Clean the Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Gently clean the contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry before reinstalling the cartridges.

Perform a Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes an update can resolve compatibility issues.

Try Other Cartridges:

  • Since you've mentioned all new cartridges from one delivery have the same issue, consider trying any other cartridge you might have from a previous purchase to identify if the problem lies with the specific batch.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a blissful day 😇.

The HP prompt says that "the cartridges listed above are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured"

I tried opening a new ink for the 5th time, still same problem
