Ink Cartridge Error

Help!!  I keep getting a "The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer" message and the cartridge is an HP one in the correct size.  It's brand new and I got it from Target.  I did all the suggested fixes from the virtual help agent:  restarted, took the cartridge out waited and put it back in, updated the firmware and then cleaned it-twice exactly how they showed me too.  No luck and I can't use my printer.  I'm out of warranty and really hate to think that I have to buy a new printer?  Would really appreciate some help on this.  Thank you!  Lynda

Correct size does not mean correct cartridge. You need correct model/product number. You need
