Like lots of people, over the past couple of years it has become difficult to find ink cartridges in retail stores. I use my printer for personal business (I’m retired), but I still need ink occasionally. If I’m fortunate enough to find HP cartridges, the cost is prohibitive for fixed income folks.
I started buying non-HP ink, the printer recognized that fact and suggested using HP, and I proceded with few problems. HOWEVER RECENTLY the printer has rejected the ink, saying that a non-HP chip was detected, so now I have a quantity of ink which my printer refuses to accept.
I suspect a bug was put into my printer during an HP update which locks it up, and I need to know how to remove it to allow use of these cartridges.
This is my first HP printer and I have really enjoyed it, however if I cannot use all the ink which I have, I’ll see if the printer can fly and I’ll return to my Epsons!
