Hi @AJ777555,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If your HP ENVY 6052e All-In-One Printer is indicating that a brand-new cartridge is out of ink, try the following steps to resolve the issue:
Are you using HP genuine ink cartridges?
Step 1: Check Cartridge Installation
- Turn off the printer: Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door: Ensure the cartridge is correctly installed in the appropriate slot. Press down gently to ensure it is properly seated.
- Close the access door: Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
Step 2: Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Turn off the printer: Unplug it from the power source.
- Remove the cartridge: Carefully take out the cartridge.
- Clean the contacts: Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
- Reinstall the cartridge: After cleaning, reinstall the cartridge and ensure it is securely in place.
- Close the access door: Plug the printer back in and turn it on
Step 3: Perform a Printer Reset
- Turn off the printer: Unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for 60 seconds: Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Check the status: See if the printer recognizes the cartridge correctly.
Step 4: Update Printer Firmware
- Check for firmware updates: Go to the HP Support website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer.
- Install updates: Follow the instructions to update the printer's firmware.
Step 5: Use Genuine HP Cartridges
- Ensure you are using genuine HP cartridges, as non-HP or refilled cartridges may not be recognized correctly by the printer.
Step 6: Align the Printer
- Use the printer control panel: Navigate to the settings or maintenance menu.
- Run an alignment: Perform a cartridge alignment to ensure the printer correctly recognizes the cartridge.
- If the problem persists after trying the above steps, it may be a hardware issue or a defective cartridge. Contact HP Support for further assistance or to request a replacement cartridge if it's found to be defective.
