I got a printer from a friend of mine. It needs to SETUP cartridges to finish setting up but she doesn't have those cartridges anymore and I don't know how to get those SETUP cartridges. I need help. I tried talking to the online assistance, putting in my serial number so that it can help me talk to an actual person and it keeps telling me there is no way to help service my type of printer. Help, please I don't know what to do.

Thank you for the response.

  

To bypass the message on the printer the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer. 

  

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device. 

  

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer. 

  

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link

Ok thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I will say though that I did not get the private message you sent me. I used the instructions you gave me to get to my private messages and I did not see a message from you about the instructions on how to reboot my printer. I tried reloading the website and my inbox but not message came up. I tried clicking the link that you provided as well and it said that this page that I am trying to access is not found.

I found a post where I replace the old cartridges back in the printer for 10 minutes and took those out and added the new cartridges and it worked.
