Our printer is HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw. We have an ink bleeding issue, where there are spots of (black) ink residue — like little black dots — that show up on the left or right sides of the 8.5x11 printout (maybe about 0.5 inches from the edge of the paper). These dots can generally be “scraped” off with a nail… and aren’t printed directly onto the sheet.
I went through the following assessment, but the problem still persists.
- We have changed out the black and the cyan toners — because they were particularly low.
- We did the “Cleaning Page” settings function via Printer Maintenance > Print Quality Tools > Cleaning Page.
- We tried “Color Calibration” settings function via Printer Maintenance > Color Calibration
- Also, nothing seems apparent on the drum roller.
- No paper jam issue.
What are we missing here?
