This printer is an old model but brand new out of box. I suppose it's been sitting too long and the ink they put in the system for setup is dried or something because when I set it up it gave an ink system failure error and won't print anything. Is there something I can do? Is there somewhere I can take it for repair that can flush the lines and get it running? I'm in Salt Lake City, Utah. Thanks

@mprichar, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are not able to use the printer because of this error. Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - Resolving 'Ink System Failure', 'System Supply Problem' Errors
If you are able to bypass this error to get to the home screen of the printer, try to check the ink levels and clean the printhead as shown in this document - Wrong Colors
Note: There is a high chance that the ink cartridges and the ink nozzles are dried up
If the issue persists, and if the printer is out of warranty, you may take it to a local printer repair shop to get it serviced.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thank you for the reply. Ya, I tried all of the steps as instructed and could never get it to print so I'm sure it's dried up. I looked for repair shops in the Salt Lake City area and couldn't find anyone that repairs inkjet printers. And when I called the HP support line to find a repair shop the recording said they were closed due to the circumstances and to go online. There's nothing online that helps.
Anyway, I was hoping to know if it's possible to use a syringe and inkjet water or something through the ink cartridge portals if that would clean the system out or if there is anyway to do that - before I throw it away.

You may try it at your own discretion. As this printer is out of warranty now, HP cannot replace it. If the issue persists, you may have to buy a new printer.
Also, check in local repair shops(other than HP) before you try doing something yourself. It is better to consult a hardware technician.
Keep me posted for any other assistance.
