HELP! Wondered if someone could help? I constantly have a blurring of the ink on my page once I have printed something along with blurred repeats at the bottom of the page. I have cleaned all the cartridges and emptied the waste to no avail. Any ideas? HPPrint1.jpgHPPrint.jpg

Hi @mmurrayjones,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're describing with ink bleeding and blurring on the page despite having healthy ink levels could be caused by several factors. Here are some steps and considerations to help diagnose and potentially resolve the problem:

Check Paper Quality: Ensure you are using high-quality, printer-compatible paper. Poor quality or incompatible paper can absorb ink unevenly or cause smudging.

Print Settings: Check your printer settings to ensure they match the type of paper you are using. Incorrect settings (such as using a photo paper setting for regular paper) can cause ink to bleed or blur.

Printer Maintenance: Perform a thorough printer maintenance routine, including:

  • Nozzle Check: Use your printer's maintenance tools to perform a nozzle check to ensure all nozzles are firing correctly.
  • Head Cleaning: If the nozzle check shows gaps or uneven printing, perform a head cleaning cycle to unclog any blocked nozzles.
  • Alignment: Run a print head alignment procedure if your printer supports it, as misaligned print heads can cause smudging and blurring.

Check Printer Environment: Ensure your printer is placed on a stable, flat surface and away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or excessive humidity, which can affect print quality.

Update Printer Drivers and Firmware: Ensure your printer drivers and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, updates include fixes for print quality issues.

Inspect Cartridges: Even if they have ink, cartridges can sometimes have issues with leaking or improper seating. Remove each cartridge and check for any signs of leakage or damage. Re-seat them properly.

Run a Cleaning Cycle: Some printers have an advanced cleaning cycle option that can help clear up persistent ink bleeding issues. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to run this cycle.

Test with Different Paper: Try printing on a different type or brand of paper to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the printer or the paper being used.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
