Hi @DF5252,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your HP ENVY Inspire 7900e series printer. Installing ink cartridges can sometimes be a bit tricky, but I'll do my best to help guide you through the process. Here are general steps you can follow.
-
Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on before you start the ink installation process.
-
Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Locate the ink cartridge access door on your printer. This is typically on the front or top of the printer. Open the door to access the ink cartridges.
-
Wait for the Cartridge Holder to Move to the Center: Once you open the ink cartridge access door, the cartridge holder should move to the center of the printer. Wait for it to come to a complete stop before proceeding.
-
Remove Old Cartridges (if applicable): If there are any old cartridges in the printer, carefully remove them. Follow any instructions provided in the printer manual for proper cartridge removal.
-
Unpack the New Cartridges: Take the new ink cartridges out of their packaging. Be sure to remove any protective tapes or seals.
-
Insert the Cartridges: Hold the new cartridge by its sides, with the contacts facing the printer. Gently push the cartridge into the slot until it clicks into place. Make sure it is securely installed.
-
Repeat for Other Cartridges: If your printer uses multiple cartridges (e.g., one for black and another for color), repeat the process for each cartridge.
-
Close the Ink Cartridge Access Door: Once all the cartridges are installed, close the ink cartridge access door securely.
-
Print a Test Page: Some printers automatically align the cartridges after installation. Check your printer's manual for information on how to initiate a cartridge alignment. It's often a good idea to print a test page to ensure that the cartridges are installed correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
