I bought a supposedly valid HP 64XL black ink cartridge from Walmart and it does not recognize it as VALID. Could it have been repackaged and relabeled to look like yours? How do I get my money back on this?

Hi @NCGNTO25,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for your patience. I understand your HP ENVY Inspire 7955e is rejecting a genuine HP 64XL black ink cartridge you purchased from Walmart. Sorry to hear about all the trouble you are facing. Here’s what you need to do:

1. Verify Cartridge Authenticity

2. Clean Cartridge Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Remove the cartridge.
  3. Gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth.
  4. Let dry, reinstall, and power on.

3. Update Printer Firmware

4. Reset the Printer

  1. Unplug the printer while it’s on.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
