My yellow ink cartridge isn’t being detected. I’ve replaced all ink cartridges and cleaned contacts. Turned printer off and on multiple times to try and reset error message but nothing has worked. Previously, I was using off brand ink cartridges as ink is overpriced. Did using off brand cartridges damage my printer? I’ve had for 5 years and never had this problem. Please advise.

@Byt80, Welcome to HP Support Community!

The third-party ink cartridges will work. But there are many cartridges in the market which is refilled and sometimes the chip is not configured to work with the printer. You need to contact the cartridge manufacturer and find out why it is not working. Try a different cartridge supplier and check if that works.

If you have performed all the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!
