Hi @martaodom,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP printer is not accepting a new ink cartridge. There could be several reasons, such as improper installation or compatibility issues. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Make sure the new cartridge is compatible with your specific printer model. You can find the compatible cartridge numbers inside the cartridge access door or in the printer software under "Shop For Supplies Online."

Proper Installation:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it, then open the access door.

  • Remove the ink cartridge from the slot and ensure all protective tapes or packaging have been completely removed.

  • Reinsert the cartridge firmly into the correct slot, matching the color and icon of each cartridge to the corresponding slot.

  • Close the access door and turn the printer back on.

Cartridge Verification:

  • If the issue persists, ensure the printer is identifying the cartridge correctly. Sometimes cartridges from another region or refilled cartridges might not be recognized.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord. Wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Blockages:

  • Inspect the cartridge carriage for any blockages or obstructions. Remove any foreign objects inside the printer that might be preventing the cartridge from seating properly.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Thank you!  I’ve done all of that numerous times during the past month!  No resolution!  I have empty HP cartridges, new HP cartridges, and new non-HP cartridges which I’ve tried!  Nothing.
