Hi @Nel_roa ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e ink cartridges are not communicating with the printer despite using brand-new HP cartridges, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check Cartridge Compatibility
- Ensure the cartridges are compatible with your specific printer model. The HP ENVY Inspire 7255e typically uses HP 64 or HP 64XL ink cartridges.
2. Power Cycle the Printer
- Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Try printing again to see if the cartridges communicate properly.
3. Inspect and Clean the Ink Cartridges
- Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
- Gently remove the cartridges from the printer.
- Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer where the cartridges sit.
- Reinsert the cartridges and close the access door.
- Restart the printer.
4. Reinstall Ink Cartridges
- Remove the ink cartridges and then carefully reinstall them, ensuring they click into place properly.
- Close the cartridge access door and check if the printer recognizes them.
5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Make sure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
- If an update is available, install it and then try using the cartridges again.
6. Reset the Printer
- Perform a printer reset:
- Disconnect the power cord while the printer is on.
- Unplug it from the wall for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall and reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
7. Check for Blockages or Obstructions
- Inspect the cartridge slots and ensure there are no obstructions or small bits of packaging material that could be preventing a proper connection.
8. Use Another Set of Cartridges
- If you have access to another set of ink cartridges, even previously used ones, try inserting those to see if the issue lies with the current set of cartridges.
9. Reset Ink Cartridge Data (Hard Reset)
- Some printers can store information about ink cartridges even after a replacement. A hard reset of the printer can clear this:
- Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds to force a reset.
- Wait for the printer to reset and try again.
10. Printer Diagnostics HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Run a diagnostic test through the HP Smart app or from the printer's control panel to identify potential issues.
Refer to this document: HP ENVY Inspire 7255e All-in-One Printer User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
